This is my honest Systeme.io review after testing their free plan for 30 minutes. I know that doesn’t seem long, but it’s all I needed.
I was in search of a free marketing tool that didn’t suck. Here’s exactly what happened when I signed up at 2:47 PM on a Tuesday, built a sales funnel in 10 minutes, and discovered why this platform is shockingly good for $0.
My situation: I want to build a side gig. Something small. A digital product, maybe a course, just to see if I can actually do this. But I’m not dropping $97/month on ClickFunnels or $39/month on Kit (formerly ConvertKit) when I have exactly zero customers.
That’s a terrible business strategy. Trust me, I’ve tried it.
And when i started websites 7 years ago the free tools were… rough.
So rough I rage quit for 6 years. But I’m back now because……
In 2025? Holy shit, things have changed.
I stumbled on Systeme.io while researching free funnel builders. The reviews said it was “shockingly good for free.” I was skeptical.
So I did what any rational person does at 2:47 PM on a Tuesday: I signed up to see if they were lying.
Spoiler: They weren’t lying.
In 30 minutes, I went from complete stranger to having a live sales funnel, understanding 90% of the platform, and genuinely shocked that this costs $0.
Here’s exactly what happened in my Systeme.io free plan test.
Scale and grow With Systeme.io

2:47 PM – The Sign-Up (2 Minutes, Zero Red Flags)
I went to systeme.io and clicked “Start Free.”
What they asked for:
- Email address
- Password
- That’s it
What they DIDN’T ask for:
- ❌ Credit card
- ❌ “Just $1 to start!” trial
- ❌ Phone number
- ❌ My firstborn child
Two minutes after submitting my email, I got a confirmation link. Clicked it. I was in.
First thought: “Okay, where’s the upsell? Where’s the popup? Where’s the ‘Upgrade now for REAL features!’ pitch?”
There wasn’t one.
Just a clean, simple dashboard with one new lead. Me.

2:49 PM – First Look at the Dashboard (The “Wait, What?” Begins)
The dashboard loaded and my first reaction was: “This is… really simple?”
Not simple like “we removed all the features so you’d upgrade” simple.
Simple like “we’re not trying to overwhelm you with 47 menus” simple.
Here’s what I saw immediately:
Main navigation:
- Dashboard (where I landed)
- CRM (contacts, tags, pipeline, calendar)
- Sites (funnels, digital store, blog)
- Emails (campaigns, newsletters, automations)
- SMS (wait, SMS too?!)
- Automations
- Assets (products, coupons, courses, files)
- Sales
And then I noticed something that made me laugh:
They have a BLOG builder included.
Not advertised. Not hyped. Just… there. As a bonus.
My exact thought: “A ONE TOOL STACK you might say?!?!?!”
(Yes, I’m naming my blog after this realization. Domain already bought. You’re reading it.)
2:52 PM – I Click the “Upgrade” Button (Out of Curiosity)
Before diving into features, I wanted to see the pricing. You know, to mentally prepare for the inevitable “free plan is useless” letdown.
Clicked “Upgrade” in the menu.
Here’s what loaded:

The Pricing plan TL/DR
| Plan | Price | What You Get |
| FREE | $0/mo | 2,000 contacts, unlimited emails, 3 funnels, courses, blog, store |
| Startup | $17/mo | 5,000 contacts, 10 funnels, remove branding |
| Webinar | $47/mo | 10,000 contacts, 50 funnels, webinars, A/B testing |
| Unlimited | $97/mo | Unlimited everything |

My reaction: “Wait, the FREE plan includes unlimited emails?!”
Most email tools charge per contact AND per send. Kit (ConvertKit) has a pretty limited free plan and the next tier starts at $39/month for 1,000 contacts. I was paying that with zero contacts (again, bad strategy).
Systeme.io gives you unlimited sends for free.
Second reaction: “And they have webinars and A/B testing at $47/month?!”
ClickFunnels charges $197/month for their second tier. Systeme.io’s second tier is $47/month and includes MORE from the look of it. Check out my full comparison of systeme.io vs clickfunnels HERE.
2:56 PM – Exploring the Systeme.io Features (Discovering Hidden Bonuses)
I started clicking through every tab to see what’s actually included in this Systeme.io free plan review.
Dashboard Tab
Three dashboard options: Main, Affiliate, Student.
- Main Dashboard: Email leads, funnel stats (makes sense)
- Affiliate Dashboard: Looks like you can manage your own affiliate program here (not just promote Systeme.io)
- Student Dashboard: For courses you’re hosting
Nothing scary. All green lights. Easy.
CRM Tab
This is where your contacts live.
- Contacts: Add manually or upload CSV
- Tags: Segment your list (I’ll use this for “lead magnet downloaded” vs “paid customer”)
- Pipeline: I clicked this and… honestly not intuitive. Created a test one and it looks like a visual sales pipeline (think Trello board for deals). Kinda cool, but not sure I need it yet.
- Calendar: For booking calls, I think?
Honest take: 3 out of 4 features made immediate sense. Pipelines? I’ll figure that out later.
Sites Tab
This is where my brain exploded a little.
Three options:
- Funnels (I get 3 on the free plan)
- Digital Store (to sell products or courses)
- Blog (a full blog builder?!)
My exact thought: “Say what!? I can start funnels, a digital store, AND a blog… for free? What’s the catch?”
I clicked Funnels first.
3:02 PM – Building My First Funnel in Systeme.io (The 10-Minute Test)
This is the heart of my Systeme.io review – actually building something.
Clicked “Create Funnel.”
Got this menu:
- Build an audience (lead magnets)
- Sell a product
- Host a webinar
- Run a challenge
I picked “Build an audience” since I’m starting from zero.
Template selection: 50+ clean, professional templates loaded.

The Editor (Surprisingly Intuitive)
The drag-and-drop editor loaded. If you’ve used Wix, Squarespace, or any modern website builder, this will feel familiar.
What I did:
- Changed the headline (copy-pasted from ChatGPT)
- Updated the subheading
- Swapped the placeholder image for my own
- Deleted some unnecessary sections
- Changed button text
- Customized the Thank You page (same drag-and-drop process)
What I DIDN’T have to do:
- ❌ Watch a 40-minute tutorial
- ❌ Google “how to change font size Systeme.io”
- ❌ Get confused about “sections vs elements vs rows”
Everything was exactly where I expected it to be.
Total time: Less than 10 minutes from clicking “Create” to having a live funnel.
Proof: onetoolstack.systeme.io (yes, it’s live, and yes, it’s basic, but it WORKS)
3:12 PM – The “Oh Shit, There’s More” Moments
After building the funnel, I kept exploring what else Systeme.io offers.
Digital Store
Clicked the Store tab out of curiosity.
Options:
- Sell your own products
- Sell digital downloads
- Connect to other stores
- Sell courses you’re hosting on Systeme.io
My take: This isn’t aligned with my current needs (I’m building an audience first), but the fact it’s here for FREE is nuts. You could legitimately sell courses, ebooks, or physical products without Shopify, Gumroad, or any other tool.
All in one place. HOT DAMN.
Blog
Clicked the Blog tab.
It’s a self-service, grab-and-go blog builder. Pick a template, change the text and colors, done.
My honest assessment: With AI generating your MVP text, you could have a blog page live in under an hour (not counting writing actual articles—just the infrastructure).
Again, this is FREE. You don’t need WordPress. You don’t need hosting. It’s just… there.
3:18 PM – The Email Marketing Features (Unlimited Sends is Wild)
Clicked Emails in the main nav.
Three sections:
- Campaigns
- Newsletters
- Stats
Everything a solopreneur needs to see what’s working.
I clicked Newsletter to test it.
Template options loaded—not a ton of options, but clean and professional. And honestly? People don’t care about newsletter design. They care about the content.
The fact you have access to a free program that will send unlimited emails to your contact list is insane.
Kit (ConvertKit) charges $39/month for 1,000 contacts. Systeme.io? Free for 2,000.
One Small Hurdle (But They Help)
When I went to create a campaign, I hit this message:
“You need a verified email address before sending campaigns.”
This is where I paused. Email deliverability is complicated. You need to verify your domain, set up SPF/DKIM records, etc. For noobs, this is a barrier.
But here’s the thing: Systeme.io has documentation on how to do this, AND their support team will do it FOR you if you’re not tech-savvy.
I’ll test their support later, but this is the one friction point I encountered in my Systeme.io review.

3:23 PM – SMS, Automations, and Other Bonuses
SMS Tab
“Whoa, you can send text messages in this thing as well?”
Yes. SMS campaigns are built-in. I don’t think I need this yet, but it’s there. Great bonus for anyone who does.
Automations Tab
This has two sections: Rules and Workflows.
Rules: Triggers (someone opts in → add to list) Workflows: Actions (someone opts in → send welcome sequence)
Honest take: This might take the most time to figure out. I’ll need to test it more. It looks standard, but the difference between “rules” and “workflows” isn’t immediately clear.
I skimmed the help docs—they explain it, but I’d need to actually build one to fully understand.
Assets Tab
Where you add:
- Physical products
- Digital downloads
- Coupons
- Courses
- Files
Courses especially: You get templates and can directly upload videos. Looks easy.
Sales Tab
All your transaction data for products or courses. Helpful that it’s there for free.
3:27 PM – Testing the Help Documentation
The Help tab has a lot of documentation. I wanted to see if it would help me understand Rules vs Workflows better.
Clicked through to the Rules page.
What I found: It explains it, but not in a way that clicked for me immediately. Maybe I’m tired. Maybe it’s just one of those “you have to do it to understand it” features.
The docs are thorough, which is good. But they’re not dumbed-down, which means complete beginners might struggle here.
Time to research this question: ~5 minutes of reading docs. Still a bit fuzzy but I get the gist.
My Systeme.io Review: The Final Verdict After 30 Minutes
I spent 30 minutes testing Systeme.io’s free plan.
In that time, I:
- ✅ Signed up (2 minutes)
- ✅ Explored every tab
- ✅ Built a complete lead magnet funnel (10 minutes)
- ✅ Discovered hidden bonuses (blog, store, SMS)
- ✅ Understood 90% of the platform
What I could do in half a day: Set up a website or store, create 2-3 sales funnels, build a basic email campaign, and have a fully functional business infrastructure—all for $0.
Compare that to:
- ClickFunnels: $197/month for their second tier (the one you actually need)
- ConvertKit: $29/month for email alone
- Teachable: $59/month for courses (plus you’d still need email)
- WordPress + hosting + plugins: $20-50/month and way more setup time
Systeme.io does all of it. For free.

My Honest Systeme.io Rating
Value: 10/10
I genuinely can’t believe this is free. The free plan alone replaces 4-5 separate tools I was considering paying for.
Ease of Use: 8/10
It’s intuitive for anyone with basic website-building experience. The only thing holding it back from 10/10 is the email verification setup (which requires some tech know-how) and the slight confusion around Rules vs Workflows.
But compared to ClickFunnels (which took me 3+ hours to feel comfortable) or Kajabi (which is expensive and complex)? Systeme.io is shockingly easy.
Overall: 5/5 stars for beginners and solopreneurs
Who Should Use Systeme.io? (Based on My Review)
After 30 minutes of hands-on testing, here’s who I think this is perfect for:
✅ You should use Systeme.io if:
1. You’re at $0 revenue (like me) You need to test ideas without financial risk. No credit card = no pressure.
2. You’re tired of paying for tools you don’t use I was paying Kit $39/month with zero contacts. That’s embarrassing. Systeme.io would’ve been free.
3. You want everything in one place No more juggling ClickFunnels + ConvertKit + Teachable + WordPress. One login. One dashboard. Everything works together.
4. You’re selling digital products or courses The store + course hosting + email all being free is insane value.
5. You value speed over complexity I built a funnel in 10 minutes. Could’ve done it faster if I wasn’t documenting every step.
6. You want a responsible scaling path When you outgrow the free plan:
- Next step: $17/month (Startup plan)
- After that: $47/month (Webinar plan with A/B testing)
- Compare to ClickFunnels: $197/month for their second tier
You can scale without breaking the bank.
⚠️ You might NOT want Systeme.io if:
1. You need pixel-perfect custom design The templates are clean and professional, but if you need total design control (custom CSS, complex animations), ClickFunnels or a custom-coded solution might be better.
2. You’re intimidated by email deliverability setup The email verification requirement is a small hurdle. They’ll help you, but it’s not instant “click and send.”
3. You’re making $50K+/month and need enterprise features At that point, you might want Kajabi’s polish or ClickFunnels’ advanced split-testing. But honestly? Most people would be fine staying on Systeme.io’s $97/month Unlimited plan.
The Free Tools in 2025 Reality Check
Here’s what shocked me most in this Systeme.io review: Free tools in 2025 are WILDLY better than 5 years ago.
When I last tried building a side gig (2019-2020), the free options were:
- Mailchimp’s free plan (limited and clunky)
- WordPress.com (free but requires paid plugins for anything useful)
- LeadPages/ClickFunnels trials (14 days then $$$)
None of them gave you a complete, functional business stack for free.
Systeme.io does.
What changed?
- Competition increased (more tools fighting for users)
- Technology improved (easier to host, easier to build)
- Freemium models evolved (companies realized free users become paid users)
The result? You can legitimately start a business in 2025 without spending a dollar on software.
Your only costs:
- Domain name (~$12/year)
- Maybe some Fiverr graphics ($5-20)
- Your time
That’s it.

What I’m Doing Next with Systeme.io
After this 30-minute test, I’m sticking with Systeme.io’s free plan to:
- Build out my lead magnet funnel (add more copy, better design)
- Create a 5-email welcome sequence (nurture leads)
- Set up my first automation (opt-in → email sequence)
- Start driving traffic (Reddit, Quora, Pinterest—free channels)
When I’ll upgrade:
- When I hit 2,000 contacts (upgrade to Startup at $17/mo)
- When I need to remove branding (also Startup plan)
- When I want webinars or A/B testing (Webinar plan at $47/mo)
What I’m NOT doing:
- Paying $197/month for ClickFunnels when I have zero revenue
- Paying $39/month for Kit when Systeme.io’s email is free
- Overthinking which tool is “perfect”
The platform doesn’t make you successful. Your offer, your marketing, your consistency—that’s what matters.
Systeme.io just makes it stupid-easy to get started.
Systeme.io Review: Common Questions
Yes. I tested it. Sent myself 20+ test emails in 30 minutes. All arrived within 2 minutes.
Most email tools charge per send or per contact. Systeme.io? Unlimited.
Q: Can I really send unlimited emails on the free plan?
A: Yes. I tested it. Sent myself a few test emails with multiple accounts. All arrived within 2 minutes.
Most email tools charge per send or per contact. Systeme.io? Unlimited.
Q: What about email deliverability?
A: You’ll need to verify your domain (SPF/DKIM setup). This is standard for any email platform, not just Systeme.io.
The good news: their docs explain it, and their support team will help you set it up if you’re not tech-savvy.
This is the one hurdle I found, but it’s not unique to Systeme.io.
Q: Is the Systeme.io funnel builder as good as ClickFunnels?
A: For basic funnels? Yes. I built mine in 10 minutes.
For advanced features (complex split testing, intricate custom designs)? ClickFunnels has more power.
But 90% of people don’t need that power. They need a funnel that works and converts. Systeme.io delivers that.
Q: Can I actually sell products or courses on the free plan?
A: Yes. The store and course hosting work on the free plan.
You’ll pay standard payment processing fees (Stripe charges 2.9% + $0.30 per transaction), but Systeme.io doesn’t take a cut.
Q: What’s the biggest downside you found in your Systeme.io review?
A: Honest answer: The email domain verification setup.
It’s not hard if you’re tech-comfortable, but complete beginners might get stuck here. The good news is Systeme.io’s support will help you.
Beyond that? The free plan limits (2,000 contacts, 3 funnels) are totally reasonable.
Q: How does Systeme.io compare to other platforms?
A: I’m testing multiple platforms for comparison. Check out my other articles:

Ready to Test Systeme.io Yourself?
Look, I’m not getting paid to hype this (okay, there’s an affiliate link below, but I tested this for 30 minutes before I even knew I’d write this review).
Here’s what I recommend:
If you’re at $0 revenue or just starting:
→ Try Systeme.io’s free plan (no credit card required)
Spend 30 minutes like I did:
- Click around every tab
- Build one simple funnel (lead magnet or opt-in page)
- Set up a 3-email welcome sequence
- See if it feels right for you
Worst case? You wasted 30 minutes. But there’s no financial risk.
Free Plan includes:
2,000 contacts. 3 funnels. Unlimited emails. $0.
No credit card. No time limit. No catch.
Upgrade to $17/mo only when you’re ready.
Best case? You find the tool that lets you finally start that side gig without dropping $200+/month on software.
If you’re already paying for multiple tools:
→ Calculate what you’re spending
- ClickFunnels: $97-297/mo
- Kit: $39-79/mo
- Teachable: $99/mo
- WordPress hosting: $10-20/mo
Total: Roughly $295-355/month
Systeme.io does all of that for:
- Free (if you’re under 2,000 contacts)
- $17/mo (Startup plan)
- $47/mo (Webinar plan with A/B testing)
Even if you go with the Webinar plan, you’re saving $248-308/month. That’s $2,976-3,696/year.
That’s a used car. Or 6-12 months of Facebook ad budget.
Test the free plan and see if it can replace what you’re currently paying for.
Full transparency: That’s an affiliate link. If you sign up and eventually upgrade to a paid plan, I earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. But the free plan is free forever—no strings attached.
I’m recommending Systeme.io in this review because I tested it for 30 minutes and genuinely couldn’t believe what I found. If it helps you start or grow your business, that’s a win for both of us.
What’s Next for Me (And Maybe You)
